Supporting Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday UK is a national campaign that highlights small business success and encourages customers to shop local during the festive season. With recent news articles detailing high street retailers have had a challenging year with many shop closures from big name brands, we are seeing more town centres adapting to support these local businesses and providing services and 'places' for their local community.
Independent local traders are thriving as they build on personable experiences and customer loyalty.
Examples of this include destinations such Lamb's Conduit Street, home to an eclectic mix of boutique fashion, fine jewellery, book shops and award winning restaurants, all in the heart of Bloomsbury.
Portobello Road with not only an abundance of antique shops, but independent retailers too.
Then there is The Food Pit where 7 independent local traders that are shaking up the food and beverage industry in Durham. Customers are seeking authentic food and choosing loyalty with personable traders they can trust over the big national chains.
If you're out Christmas shopping this weekend, look out for the Small Business Saturday graphic in stores or cafes. By supporting these small businesses and shopping local we're helping to save the high street.
