"In these unprecedented times we have quickly learned to change the way we work and I am so proud of our teams resilience and positive attitude. They have focused on maintaining an excellent service to our clients and in many ways are working a lot harder to deliver smart solutions, collecting rent and service charge, as well as document agreements on behalf of our clients.
We were very mindful that a lot of the team would find working at home isolating, and we have therefore worked hard to have a virtual daily coffee/water cooler chat and weekly Tandem’s games/virtual drink in the virtual pub. Tandem have also become ‘Yogies’ with our weekly virtual yoga session, providing the team with fitness and well-being support.
Since the start of the lockdown we’ve had twice weekly critical planning calls (our version of COBRA) with our FM partner Envirotech FM. We’ve created new policies and strategies to address building compliance and services, created stronger customer engagement, and now we are planning for buildings to be re-occupied when the time is right. Envirotech FM are engaging with BESA on a daily basis and working to FSG 20 and 30 to ensure we have compliant buildings across our portfolio. We are acutely aware that our supplier partners are key to the service delivery, therefore we are working hard to engage with them regularly and pay them promptly. We have been protecting service charges accounts and asking clients for critical funding to ensure that we are ready to re-mobilise.
One year on in our business we may not have planned for lockdown, however it has made our business more resilient and collegiate."
